The best time for the
middle finger
Do you feel sometimes like the whole world is against you? We hate that!
In these moments, I tend to retreat back to my bed and allow myself to feel very, very defeated. So defeated that if left untreated, I could stay under my sheets for days.
You and I both know that does not solve the problem and just makes me feel like a big ol’ turd. What always works, without fail, is self love.
Usually when my world feels upside down and like I can’t get a grip on anything, it’s because I’m focusing too much on what other people want. I’m worried about failing expectations or disappointing friends. I’m consumed with thinking about if someone likes me or if I’ve done something to make someone mad.
In other words, it’s all things that are severely out of my control.
BOOM!
I’ve literally wasted days worrying what other people are thinking. It’s something I’ll never figure out completely, but yet I sit and analyze and I dissect. Pretty soon, I’m so caught up in my own crazy that I feel like I’ve gone past the point of saving.
Self love redirects all of that nonsense. It brings you back to center. It reminds you of your truth. It gives you a new perspective.
When you’re demonstrating self love, you’re telling the world that you don’t give a flying fart about what anyone thinks. You’re going to do what’s best for you, and you’re done worrying about how anyone else feels about it.
If you want to tell the world that you’re done caring, then start caring. Do morning yoga, get banged, take a walk, go to the gym, keep a consistent work schedule, say no to things you don’t want to do, and most importantly stop living your life for other people.
Your time on this planet isn’t as long as you think it is.
So when you find yourself getting anxiety or worried about what someone might think if you do x, y or z, then just do it.
💩 Don’t over-think shit — just live.
